SowingDeeds KHOU11 News interview

Pay it forward, or as we like to say Sow it forward.

Pay it forward: the saying implies a chain reaction of random acts of kindness. Imagine if you could track that chain and see how one good deed can impact many people. With a Sowing Deeds Kindness Card, you can.

Each Kindness Card represents a chain of random acts of kindness. Each link in that chain is a separate good deed performed by different people.  All are connected by the same card, passed along from person to person, one random act of kindness at a time.  Every card has a unique number used to track the chain, from the initial act of kindness to every subsequent good deed.

What's better than one good deed?  More good deeds.

The idea is to have each card, or chain of good deeds, continue indefinitely.  Ideally, each card will be passed on to as many people as possible, one random act of kindness at a time.

Get Involved: Help make random acts of kindness contagious.

Want to Sow it forward and watch good deeds grow? Here is how:
  1. Request a Sowing Deeds card (no cost to you)
  2. Receive your card in the mail
  3. Login/ Sign-in to SowingDeeds.com and Register Card so it and your good deed can be tracked
  4. Perform a random act of kindness for someone
  5. Give that person the card you registered and ask them to:
  • Post Good Deed: share their experience on SowingDeeds.com (login/ sign-up required).  Posting a Good Deed is how a random act of kindness is tracked.
  • Sow it forward: do something nice for someone else and to pass the card to that person

When good deeds linked to your card number(s) are posted on SowingDeeds.com you will be able to track these posts and see the impact of your initial random act of kindness.  When you are logged-in on SowingDeeds.com you can click on each card number registered under your profile to view posts associated with that card number.

Who doesn't love good news?

Good news is what the Deeds feed on SowingDeeds.com is all about.  The Deeds feed includes good deeds that are posted via the Post a Good deed icon on the homepage of SowingDeeds.com.  To Post a Good Deed, you must be the recipient of a random act of kindness and have been given a Sowing Deeds card.

If you performed a random act of kindness, that's wonderful, but please don't post your good deed. Only post a good deed when someone does something nice for you, not when you do something nice for someone else.

FAQ/ Important Notes

  • Post Good Deed: this is what you do when someone does something nice for you. Not when you do something nice for someone else.
  • If you are the recipient of random act of kindness and receive a Sowing Deeds Card: Please share your experience by Posting a Good Deed (see red button on the SowingDeeds.com Deeds Feed), and keep the goodness going.  Do something nice for someone else.  Pass them the card and ask them to do the same.
